About AssistanceFinder.org
AssistanceFinder.org is building the most comprehensive directory of government and community assistance programs in the United States. Our mission is to make it easier for individuals and families to find, understand, and access the help that’s available to them.
Why We Built This
Finding assistance shouldn’t require a research degree. Yet for millions of Americans, navigating the patchwork of federal, state, and local programs is overwhelming. Information is scattered across hundreds of websites, eligibility rules are confusing, and wait times are unclear. We’re building a single place where you can search across all of these programs at once.
What We Cover
Our directory spans five major categories of assistance:
- Section 8 Housing — Public Housing Authorities, voucher types, waitlist status, and income limits
- Emergency Rent Assistance — ERA programs, eligibility, application links, and funding status
- Senior Living & Care — Facilities, care types, amenities, and Medicaid acceptance
- Homeless Services — Shelters, transitional housing, and coordinated entry points
- Food Assistance — Food banks, pantries, SNAP offices, and meal programs
Our Data
We aggregate information from public government databases, HUD records, USDA sources, and verified community organizations. Our team works to keep listings accurate and up-to-date, but we always recommend contacting programs directly to confirm current details.
